Thanks for visiting my page! Hopefully this means we've made contact over one of the various forms of amateur radio.
I usually go by Tommy and I live in southern Greenville County in SC with my lovely wife and our wonderful dogs.
Currently, I am using an Icom IC-7300 for HF (although if our contact is via FT8 it may be my uBITX, which I've had a blast assembling and modifying), an Icom IC-2820H and an Icom-3200A at home. For mobile, I use an Icom ID-5100 for UHF/VHF/DSTAR and a Kenwood TS-480 into a hamstick type antenna for HF, and an Icom ID-51 HT for portable and DVMega use. Just recently installed the HF mobile and have enjoyed it thus far.
My base station UHF/VHF antennas are a dual bander mounted on a mast over the garage and a dual-band Arrow type antenna installed inside the attic for a backup/severe weather antenna.
My main base station HF antenna is an EFHW-8010. I also have an EFHW-4010 'pointed' in the oposite directions of the EFHW-8010.
I can usually be found on 147.165, the local Greenwood repeater (where I work), or the local DSTAR repeater in Greenwood SC, which is usually linked to Ref 30C.
My OMISS number is 8894. I confirm via LOTW, eQSL, or Direct...
I've enjoyed the hobby immensely thus far, and have enjoyed meeting a lot of great folks in my short time in the hobby. I got my Tech in January 2013, my General in May 2013, and Extra in December 2013. I'm a VE and enjoy the testing sessions and seeing folks either get their tickets or upgrade.
I've recently discovered FT-8, and it's my favorite digital mode thus far.....
